Jesus of Nazareth

Love Thy Neighbor

These beautiful words, spoken by Jesus, the great lover of all mankind, were at the root of the inspiration to form Everyman Foundation and to serve those who were dispossessed by society. Unless you have been a prisoner, it is very difficult to describe the love and the bond that is formed with those who visit you in prison. The words of Jesus convey the mystery associated this magnificent act of love that so many carry out weekly for years (and in some cases for decades) on end.

“Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the creation of the world.

For I was hungry, and you fed me. I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink. I was a stranger, and you invited me into your home.

I was naked, and you gave me clothing. I was sick, and you cared for me. I was in prison, and you visited me.”
